Robert Campbell Tripp

Savannah-Robert C. Tripp, 83, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Oaks of Skidaway Island.
Robert C. Tripp was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 18, 1929 to Wallace J. and Latona E. Tripp. He attended Kemper Military School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Military Institute in 1952. He was commissioned there as a Second Lieutenant and served in the U.S. Army in Korea and as a Reserve Commissioned Officer until 1962. He graduated from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry in 1960 and married Anne Huber in 1963. Like his father before him, Bob practiced Dentistry in the Detroit Michigan area where Anne was a Professor of History at Oakland University. Bob and Anne enjoyed tennis, golf and travelling as well as their many beloved dogs. Following their retirement, Bob and Anne moved to The Landings of Skidaway Island where they continued an active life of sports, bridge, reading and many friendships. They enjoyed a rich spiritual life as members of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Bob was active in Kiwanis of Skidaway Island and Anne devoted her energy to The Village Library as a volunteer. Anne Tripp died in 2008. Bob moved to The Marshes of Skidaway Island in 2009.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island.

I worked for Robert for many years. Doug and I became good friends with Anne & Bob and had many fun times in Michigan, Florida, and Savannah. We are saddened by the loss of a good friend.

I was very sad to hear of my boss's passing. I served as his dental assistant for 15 years in Oxford,MI. He was a joy to work side by side with. We kept in touch with cards and phone calls. He will be greatly missed, but I know he is in a better place.
